Together for Health. Together for Equity.

We are uniting communities, advancing equity, and championing health to ensure that
every AAPI voice in Ohio is seen, heard, and valued.

The Ohio Asian American Health Coalition was founded in 2005 with a mission to support the health initiatives of its member organizations, advance research and education to address health disparities, and advocate for greater access to personalized, culturally responsive, and linguistically appropriate healthcare for Asian American and Pacific Islander communities across Ohio.

We exist to ensure that every voice is heard, every story is valued, and every person has access to the culturally responsive healthcare they deserve. We bring together individuals, healthcare providers, advocates, and organizations who share a vision of a healthier, more inclusive Ohio; one where AAPI communities are empowered to lead conversations about their own health and well-being. Through advocacy, education, and partnership, we work to break down barriers, close gaps in care, and build a future where every AAPI individual can thrive.

The Coalition is made up of eight member organizations across Ohio. Together, we represent the diverse voices, cultures, and needs of AAPI communities throughout the state.

Our roots go back to 2005, when individuals and groups with a shared commitment to Asian American health organized the first statewide Ohio Asian American Health Conference in Columbus. Since then, the conference has been held every two years—bringing communities together in Cleveland (2005), Dayton (2007), Cincinnati (2009), and Columbus (2011)—to spotlight critical health issues and drive meaningful change.

The Coalition formalized in the mid-2000s and proudly became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2008, continuing to serve as a trusted voice and catalyst for action in Ohio’s public health landscape.
