Ohio is home to a vibrant and growing Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, with over 286,000 AAPI residents across the state; a remarkable 73% increase since 2000.
In Franklin County alone, more than 50,195 AAPIs contribute to the region’s rich cultural diversity. The largest AAPI ethnic groups in Ohio include Indian (81,000), Chinese (59,000), Filipino (26,000), Korean (22,000), Japanese (20,000), and Vietnamese (18,000) communities.
In addition, Ohio is home to significant AAPI refugee populations, including Laotian, Cambodian, Burmese, and Bhutanese-Nepali communities, each adding to the state’s unique cultural fabric.
